Permira is a leading European-based private equity firm. Permira acts as adviser to the 19 Permira Funds, totalling approximately Euro 22 billion, that have been raised since 1985. These funds have invested in over 180 transactions in over 15 different countries, in companies across a variety of sectors and geographies, at all stages of the business lifecycle.

For example, in recent years, we have advised the Permira Funds on investments involving:

• the strategic refocus and subsequent sale of a leading UK DIY retailer
• the rollup of 7 luxury boat companies globally
• the close cooperation over a 3 year period with the family owners of a Swiss retail chain to reposition and IPO the company
• the simultaneous acquisition and demerger of a Scandinavian software group – and within 2 years the float or sale of all 3 demerged entities
• the acquisition of a leading global satellite operator, and subsequent support of its $1.5bn capex programme to design, build and launch a fleet of new satellites offering a quantum leap in service power and capability
• the turnaround and subsequent flotation of Germany’s leading Pay-TV business
