Menlo Park, 18 April 2024 – Permira, the global private equity firm, today announced the appointment of former Salesloft CRO Steve Goldberg as its first Executive in Residence (EiR). The EiR initiative seeks to build a team of former operators that will advise and support portfolio companies, in conjunction with Permira’s dedicated Value Creation Team and Senior Advisers.

Steve brings to Permira a proven track record in building and scaling global go-to-market (GTM) teams in some of the world’s largest enterprise software businesses. He was formerly the Chief Revenue Officer at Salesloft, where he led global revenue growth from approximately $50m to more than $200m and was responsible for growing the enterprise business from 20% of global revenue to 57% over a four-year period.

Prior to that, Steve served as Group VP of Enterprise at Yext, where he architected and designed the processes for GTM verticals including in the Financial Services and Healthcare teams. Previously in his career, Steve spent nearly a decade at Salesforce, where he was responsible for putting together and executing some of the largest SaaS cloud transactions at that point in time across high tech, telecommunications and retail.

In his new role with Permira, Steve will leverage his industry knowledge, network and experience in sales growth to advise on value creation across the deal lifecycle, with a focus on go-to-market strategy and execution.

In addition to EiRs, Permira’s commitment to value creation across the portfolio is seen through its dedicated Value Creation Team, which comprises more than 20 operating experts that support management teams across the portfolio as they drive and accelerate growth, and a deep bench of Senior Advisers, which support investment and management teams to both identify new investment opportunities and scale champions globally. Recent appointments to this team include PayPal Chief Product Officer John Kim, and Amol Kulkarni, the former Chief Product and Engineering Office at CrowdStrike.
