Menlo Park, California – 1 June 2026 - Permira, the global investment firm, today announced the appointment of Mike Hoffmann as a Partner in its Technology team, based in Menlo Park.

Effective on June 1, Mike’s appointment reflects Permira’s continued commitment to expanding its successful technology investing platform, including across software, data, cybersecurity, and AI-enabled enterprise platforms. A successful private equity investor with more than 15 years of experience in software and technology investing, Mike joins Permira from Thoma Bravo, where he spent over a decade and served as Partner on the flagship buyout fund, leading and originating investments across the software landscape, including infrastructure, security, data, IT, and other platform extensions beyond core software. Prior to Thoma Bravo, he worked at Providence Equity Partners and Citigroup Global Markets, focused on TMT.

Brian Ruder, Co-CEO of Permira, said: “The next investing cycle will produce one of the most exciting and challenging investment vintages for some time, particularly in the technology industry as AI continues to transform the economy. As a firm with a strong digital backbone across all four of our sectors, we feel well positioned to address that opportunity, and what’s clear is that even deeper sector expertise than before is a must. Mike is a fantastic addition to our Menlo Park Technology team; his experience and networks will be invaluable as we continue to navigate this evolving landscape.”

Ryan Lanpher and Michail Zekkos, Partners and Co-Heads of Technology at Permira, added: "We’re thrilled to welcome Mike to Permira to further build our edge in Technology at this pivotal time for our sector. We have known him for many years, and his expertise in large-scale software transformations is directly complementary to our Technology sector team’s existing capabilities, focused on verticals where product-first category leaders and builders can be at the leading edge of AI transformation. Mike will bring senior judgment and experience to bear across origination, diligence, portfolio stewardship, and talent development – we're delighted to have him on the team."

Mike Hoffmann, Permira Partner, Technology, said: "Permira has built a distinctive and highly successful technology investing platform, backing technology that enterprises rely on every day and supporting their growth and transformation into product leaders with strategic value. I believe this is an exceptional moment for our sector, particularly as AI drives greater demand for foundational technology platforms and creates significant opportunities for investors with deep sector expertise to support ambitious entrepreneurs and management teams. I’m excited to join the Menlo Park team and contribute to the firm’s continued growth."
