- Anish Patel joins Permira as Partner and Co-Head of Climate, to co-lead Permira’s climate investment strategy alongside Kush Patel

London, 8th July 2024 – Permira, the global private equity firm, today announced it has appointed Anish Patel as Partner and Co-Head of Climate. Based in London, Anish will co-lead Permira’s dedicated climate investing team alongside Kush Patel, identifying investment opportunities across the climate transition value chain.
Anish brings over 13 years of investing experience focused on energy and climate transition sectors to Permira. He joins Permira from Kerogen Capital where he was a Partner and a senior member of the Investment and Portfolio Management Team investing globally. Prior to that, Anish worked in Corporate Finance at J.P. Morgan Cazenove, advising clients in the energy and industrial sectors. Anish holds a first-class honours degree in Economics and Management from Oxford University.
Anish’s appointment follows Permira’s announcement in March 2024 that it had established a dedicated climate investing team, which has a global, dual focus across both assets (projects and platforms) and enablers (associated products, services and technologies). Last month, Permira also announced the appointment of former ACWA Power CEO Paddy Padmanathan as a Senior Adviser to its climate investing team.
With over 35 years of investing in secular growth trends, Permira’s experience and deep expertise across technology, services and sustainability, coupled with the experience of its dedicated climate investing team, positions the firm well to back climate transition leaders across several thematic sub-sectors, including renewable energy, resource efficiency, decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors and grid modernisation. Permira’s established network of sector specialists and footprint across 16 global offices, as well as its in-house operational value creation and sustainability expertise, will be used to scale local champions globally, in line with Permira’s focus on growth and internationalisation.
