SAN FRANCISCO, California – August 5, 2025 – Banneker Partners and Permira today announced that funds advised by Permira have joined as a strategic minority investor in Versaterm (the “Company”), a Banneker portfolio company and global leader in public safety software solutions. Together, Banneker and Permira will partner with Versaterm’s leadership team to accelerate the Company’s growth, deepen its product leadership, and continue its mission of helping public safety agencies deliver the best outcomes for their communities. As part of the investment, Versaterm has also added Yossi Carmil, former CEO of Cellebrite, to its Board of Directors.
For more than 40 years, Versaterm has built its reputation on putting customers first, serving many of the largest police, fire, and emergency service agencies in the United States and Canada. The Company offers the most complete and innovative end-to-end public safety platform, supporting agencies as they modernize operations and transition to the cloud. Versaterm was an early mover in cloud software for public safety and continues to invest behind its customers through an AI-driven product roadmap designed to make agencies more efficient, informed, and effective in protecting their communities.
“Versaterm has a long and proud history of innovation and customer commitment,” said Jason Thorn, Managing Director at Permira. “We are excited to partner with Warren and the Banneker team to continue investing in product, technology, and customer experience to ensure public safety agencies have the tools they need to protect and serve their communities.”
“From day one, our partnership with Versaterm has been about building on the company’s customer-first culture and delivering the most advanced technology to public safety agencies,” said Matt McDonald, Partner at Banneker. “Permira’s investment brings additional resources, expertise, and conviction to our shared vision for Versaterm’s future, and we’re thrilled to welcome them as a partner in this next phase of growth.”
Versaterm has always been focused on expanding the ecosystem of products it provides around its core, best-in-class Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS). This strategy ensures customers benefit from a broad, integrated suite of solutions that work seamlessly together—reducing complexity, increasing efficiency, and delivering better outcomes from a single platform.
As part of this approach, Versaterm recently acquired DroneSense, a leading provider of drone operations management software for public safety. The addition of DroneSense complements Versaterm’s AI-driven, integrated platform by enabling agencies to deploy aerial support directly from their CAD and Incident Command systems - enhancing situational awareness, improving response times, and increasing safety for both first responders and the communities they serve.
“This is an exciting new chapter for Versaterm,” said Warren Loomis, President and CEO of Versaterm. “With the support of Banneker and Permira, we will continue to invest in innovative solutions that solve problems for the agencies we serve. We are focused on delivering efficient and effective solutions crafted in a way to deliver better outcomes for the agencies and the citizens they serve - while staying true to our heritage of putting customers first.”
The partnership between Banneker and Permira reinforces Versaterm’s position as the most comprehensive and forward-looking provider of public safety software, and signals continued investment in product innovation, market expansion, and strategic acquisitions in service of public safety agencies across North America.
