Andreas Dombret

Senior Adviser

Andreas, holding German and US citizenships, has more than 35 years of experience in the banking sector. His career includes leadership roles with Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan, Rothschild and Bank of America. From 2010 to 2018 Andreas acted as executive board member of Deutsche Bundesbank, the German central bank, with main responsibility for bank supervision, financial stability as well as markets; he also served as a member of the board of directors for the Bank for International Settlements as well as supervisory board member of the European Central Bank. Andreas represented Germany at the G7 and G20, the International Monetary Fund, the Basel Committee and the OECD.

In addition to Permira Andreas is a global senior advisor to Sumitomo Bank, Santander, Oliver Wyman and Amazon Web Services.

Qualifications

Andreas holds a masters degree from University of Münster and a PhD from University of Nürnberg. He teaches finance at the European Business School in Wiesbaden, where he was awarded a professorship in 2009, and since 2018 is an Adjunct Senior Research Scholar at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
