Jim Freeman is a Senior Adviser at Permira bringing deep expertise in technology, digital media and eCommerce marketplaces.
Jim has over two decades of experience building and scaling global platforms. At Amazon, he led the development and international expansion of Prime Video, serving as global product, UX and engineering leader before becoming Worldwide General Manager of Amazon Studios and Prime Video. During his tenure, the business grew rapidly in scale, capabilities and global footprint.
He later joined Zalando as its senior-most technology leader, where he played a central role in transforming the company from a high-growth start-up into a more mature, scalable organisation. He introduced company-wide operating mechanisms, helped define group and consumer growth strategies, and led large, distributed teams across Europe.
Earlier in his career, Jim founded and exited his own company, worked across multiple start-ups, and held leadership roles in advertising technology at MediaOcean.

Qualifications
Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature in Russian from the University of Georgia, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from the University of Oxford, England.
